WhatsApp has been offering users the ability to pin chats since 2017. However, until now, the number of pinned chats was limited to three. It looks like the company is planning to increase this number. Let’s take a look at the details together.
WhatsApp chat pinning number will increase from 3 to 5
WhatsApp’s latest beta, 2.24.6.13, now allows users to pin up to five chats to the top of their list. WhatsApp is reportedly considering the possibility of allowing more than five pins, but there is no evidence to support this yet.
Many users would welcome more pinning options. This would give them faster access to 5 favorite chats instead of 3 when they open the app.
The feature has not yet been widely rolled out to all beta users, so we may have to wait a considerable amount of time for it to go live.
WhatsApp was recently revealed to be testing a number of new features in beta. These features include the ability to edit stickers on Android and the ability to show ‘end-to-end encrypted’ under the profile photo in chats.
The sticker editing feature, which was first introduced to WhatsApp beta users with the iOS 24.1.10.72 update, offers the opportunity to edit stickers through the application. With this feature, users will be able to easily create/edit stickers on Android without the need for third-party applications.
As we mentioned, the ability to see end-to-end encrypted chats directly works by displaying a short ‘End-to-end encrypted’ phrase just below the person’s profile photo in the chats you enter, where you see their online status or last seen.
